Recently, it was learned from CNOOC Tianjin Branch that the Nanbao 35-2 Oilfield, my country's first offshore heavy oil thermal recovery oil field, used the superheated steam huff and puff technology for the first time to implement 6-well adjustment well steam huff and puff operations, with a daily crude oil production of 220 tons. This marks the further improvement of the offshore heavy oil development technology system.
Nanpu 35-2 Oilfield is located in the central Bohai Sea, and heavy oil accounts for more than 90% of the proven oil geological reserves. Due to the high viscosity of heavy oil, conventional cold recovery is difficult, the oil recovery rate is slow, and the recovery rate is low. In this regard, the industry generally uses thermal recovery technology to increase the fluidity of crude oil through artificial heating.
As my country’s first offshore heavy oil thermal recovery oil field, Nanbao 35-2 Oilfield is committed to thermal recovery technology research. In response to problems such as rapid heat loss, low oil displacement efficiency, and poor economic benefits in traditional processes, Nanpu 35-2 Oilfield relied on high-level heat injection technology to fully launch the first batch of superheated steam huff and puff adjustment well projects in January 2023. Based on the principle of "fast injection and quick production", the project achieved good results with an over-provisioned production of 40 tons/day through the cross-operation of steam stimulation and steam flooding "two wells injected at the same time".
