In the first half of the year, Dongfang Electric Group’s operating income maintained a double-digit growth, and its R&D investment intensity was nearly 6%, a year-on-year increase of more than 10%. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", the group's R&D investment intensity has remained above 5.5%, and the annual growth rate of R&D funds has been above 10%.

Scientific and technological innovation has achieved remarkable results, and a number of important innovation achievements have emerged. The "Crust No. 1" 10,000-meter continental scientific drilling rig was unveiled; the "Safe and Efficient Offshore Wind Power Development Complete Technology and Equipment and Industrialization" project won the first prize of the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award; an 18-megawatt offshore wind turbine was connected to the grid to generate electricity. Dongfang Electric Group's civilian nuclear safety equipment manufacturing license was approved again; the gas and electricity industry maintained its leading share in the domestic market, and its independent technology gas turbine received its first market order. The wind power industry won new bids of more than 7 million kilowatts in the first half of the year, and 10-megawatt onshore wind turbines achieved mass production; the scientific and technological innovation and application practice of the entire hydrogen industry chain was selected as a typical case of green and low-carbon energy transformation by the National Energy Administration; vigorously promote the integration of the industrial chain Development, hosted the Small and Medium-sized Gas Turbine Modern Industry Chain Common Chain Conference and the 2024 Gas Turbine Industry Development Conference, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Sichuan Provincial Government, signed a joint R&D and industrialization cooperation agreement with General Technology Group for high-end industrial base engines in the energy field, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen cooperation and signed strategic cooperation agreements with several important customers.
